Holy Halfway Point

Holy Halfway Point

Bowing to the mighty
holy halfway point
from here it’s all down hill
Nearing the end of the push
fighting to follow prompts
that not only don’t move me
but that I have written to before
How many poems must I write
along the same theme
Maybe I’m just not creative enough
or maybe I’m trying to do too much
I usually love to write poetry
but no longer does it breeze
around my neck
down my spine
through my fingers
to the keys
It just teeters on
a bending edge
one line at a time
struggling
to whisk me away

Follow Up Thoughts

Lets follow Alice into Wonderland by HelenaCollins
Lets follow Alice into Wonderland by HelenaCollins

Follow Up Thoughts

Sometimes I think
I must’ve followed
Alice down the rabbit hole
A slow roll
tumbling through a dream
Never sure of waking up
or taking up too much
time, space, energy
Chasing rabbits
and a madman with a hat
Running from
a queen of hearts
a team of bards
dressed as cards
confusingly happy
with biscuits and tea
A Cheshire smile
wormy heady
swirling words
billowing smoke
swimming around
thoughts unspoke
Funny though
Wonderland
makes more sense to me
than most reality

Heard and Not Seen

Voices by m4gik
Voices
by m4gik

Heard and Not Seen

Unseen
unsung things
voices in my head
fighting for equal space
dying to be heard
all at once
None has a name
nor a face
nor anything other than a sound
Words dripping like blood
from behind my eyes
through my veins
onto the page in front of me
Wild abandon
these words inflamed
chew them up
and spit them out
They fly
like wingless moths
through the dusty crevices
of unknown curtain calls
shrieking darkly in the night
I just listen and write
afraid to answer
I might be mad
I might be just what they had
conceptualized
Before breathing me to life
to deliver
these all-powerful
inane words
Chase me down
every direction
even in sleep
I must write them down
I must write
or drown

Accursed Whiteness

I hate snow... by Katozo
I hate snow… by Katozo

Accursed Whiteness

Not so timely
first snow in fall
last night fell
thawed and froze
Black ice morning
confronts commuters
Timely in that
I missed the sights
dreaming the night away
codling better days
when you were still here
I hate the snow
It has to know
tries to get a rise
out of me
it won you see
I curse the whiteness
no desire for the timeless
winter wonderland
anymore
Betrayed in the worst way
the umbilical cord
permanently severed
all but erased
until my children are faced
with the timeless design
of parental demise
More reason to hate
the wretched snow
I know
dragged you
mentally kicking and screaming
away from us
I hate that my children must know
this unyielding pain
lonely and lost
any age, no matter
Mother, Father
a piece of soul
flies away
