Starship Landing Strip

With deep respect to those
who have come and gone
it just goes to show
the circle grows
Nothing remains the same
for long

It matters not
how you make your name
the sound
the soul
the years of gold
remain

From the Summer of Love
that I was a part of
I chased the White Rabbit
into oncoming traffic
found Somebody to Love
and with a conjoined shrug
We Built this City
on rock and roll
ditties

To me
you’ll always just be

Last Curtain Call

Last Curtain Call

The last line
just a mark in time
where changes occurred
memories blurred
bridges burned
the last page was turned
and all that remained
in the last words stained
indelibly penned
one more story’s The End

Tilting at windmills
with featherless quills

The Moral of Cecil

The Moral of Cecil

Early Midwest morning
spawns a golden glowing hue
over mist-laden fields
breathing life into
reborn shadows
cast against
freshly mown earth
by trees, a fence post
and an old wagon
touting its hitch

In less than an hour
a transplanted cedar sapling
will spread into view
under a yellow solar orb
flying high inside blue
His fate accepted
he thrives as if dared

As for me
I can see
resistance is human
and change doesn’t care

Bury the Seed

To plant a seed by ImmfuckinAwesome
To plant a seed by ImmfuckinAwesome

Bury the Seed

It’s not enough
to plant the seed
you must bury it deep
within the need
The need that grows
as the river flows
is met by the sun
where the flower shows
The shows are wild
and free as a child
their scents wafting
pleasant and mild
The mild wind strays
beyond our days
to scatter the dust
for future ways
the ways that keep
the harvest reaped
So bury the seed
the need so deep

Technicality

Queen of Technical Nonsense by zancan
Queen of Technical Nonsense by zancan

Technicality

What nobody knows
cannot be expressed
vocally or in written form
The unknown hiding
completely out of view
The invisible unknowing
can drive you mad
yet it is what we
have always had
I find certain peace
in the release
of those things
I do not know
I do not wish to know them
for the most part
Ignorance is bliss
There are too many things
I already know
that I wish I could forget
If nobody knows them
that includes me
and it might just be best
to let those things be
